jAUnt is a courtesy golf cart service for students, faculty, and staff with a disability or medical condition that makes it difficult to travel within the central campus.

What is jAUnt?
jAUnt is a courtesy service with limited resources that assists students, faculty, and staff in reaching destinations on central campus that they may otherwise have difficulty accessing.
Accommodation Information
- jAUnt is not part of any accommodation.
Hours of Operation
- Monday - Friday when classes are in session
- First appointment: 7:40 a.m.
- Final appointment: 4:50 p.m.

Service Characteristics
On-Call/On-Demand Service
- Services must be scheduled by the stated deadline.
- Not available as an "on-call" or "on-demand" service.
Emergency Medical Transport
- Drivers do not have medical training and are not permitted to transport anyone in a medical emergency.
- In case of emergency, please call 911 for medical transport.
Applying to Use jAUnt
Documentation and Approval
- Submit qualifying medical documentation to:
- Director of the AU Office of Accessibility
- Barclay Bentley (bentlbj@auburn.edu)
- Indicate any mobility aids at the time of documentation submission.
- Do not include the office in communications with the Office of Accessibility.
Passenger Attendants
- Passengers requiring an attendant must notify the Office of Accessibility.
- Use of attendants must be approved.
- Passengers must supply their own attendant.
Approved Riders
- Approved applicants will be notified via email with additional information.
Rider Conduct and Guidelines
Code of Conduct
- Treat drivers, staff, and other riders with respect.
- Inappropriate language or behavior may result in service suspension.
- Transportation Services and the Office of Accessibility reserve the right to deny service.
Driver Limitations
- Drivers can only transport to/from locations on the appointment sheets.
- Drivers cannot deviate from scheduled routes.
- Drivers cannot handle personal belongings (except for ADA cart passengers needing assistance with mobility devices).
- Drivers cannot schedule, cancel, or add-on appointments.
Rider Requirements
- Passengers must remain seated with arms, legs, and feet inside the cart while in motion.
- Exceptions may be made for injuries or conditions preventing compliance.
Service Area Restrictions
- Carts are not street legal.
- Operations are limited to central campus.
- Cannot cross the following streets:
- Wire Road
- Magnolia Avenue
- College Street
- Lem Morrison Drive
- Pickup/drop-off is only at designated stop locations.
Appointment Scheduling
Prioritization
- Class and meeting destinations take priority.
- Pickup/drop-off times may be adjusted, and passengers will be notified of changes via email.
Scheduling Process
- All scheduling requests must be emailed to jaunt@auburn.edu.
- The Office of Accessibility approves service but does not schedule appointments.
- Drivers cannot schedule appointments.
Add-On Appointments
- Requests should be submitted to jaunt@auburn.edu with the following details:
- Requested time (e.g., :30 after the hour)
- Departure and destination locations
- Subject to availability; scheduled appointments take priority.
Cancellations
- Cancellations must be submitted via email within two hours of the scheduled appointment. Include:
- Date of cancellation
- Scheduled time
- Departure and destination locations
- Indicate if cancellation is permanent
- Late cancellations are considered on a case-by-case basis and may be counted as a no-show.
Passenger Tardiness
- Riders are responsible for being at the pickup location on time and must board within three minutes of the scheduled time.
- Drivers cannot wait or contact passengers.
- If a passenger misses a pickup, they must submit a request for an add-on appointment.
No-Show Policy
- A no-show occurs if the passenger is not aboard within three minutes of the scheduled time.
- Four no-shows in a semester may result in service suspension.
- Courtesy reminder: Each missed ride prevents another rider from using the service.
Service Animals
- Service animals should be registered with the Office of Accessibility.
- Notify jAUnt when scheduling if you will be bringing a service animal.
- Only service animals under the handler's control are permitted.
Severe Weather Protocol
- Safety is the top priority.
- All carts will be taken out of service during thunderstorms or severe weather warnings.
- Passengers on carts will be taken to the student center or will need to make alternative arrangements.
- Appointments will resume after the weather warning expires.
- Delayed service start will be communicated via email.
